About Haitian Cuisine
Haitian cuisine is a sun-drenched cuisine, rich in fish, seafood, vegetables and tropical fruits. Exotic spices enhance the cuisine including curry, colombo, bois d’inde, roucou, ginger, chillies, sugar (from sugar cane) and other homemade seasonings. Meet Your Chef
Cordon Kreyol Bakery was founded by Alexandra DaCeus, a Haitian American wanted to bring the rich and varied cuisine and flavors of her beloved Haitian homeland to her South Florida community. Alexandra said Cordon Kreyol was born during a difficult time when, following the passing of a loved one, her family was unable to find a Haitian restaurant to provide the kind of traditional, familiar food her family turns to at such a time. The goal was to make sure nobody in her community has to do without good Haitian cuisine. She said, “We wanted to open a place where people can find the high quality, really good food available in Haiti. We offer that, we cook with our heart, we put everything into the cooking!”
